Back to the 2010s

The 2010s was a period when the fixed gear bicycle culture was enthusiastically prevalent in Korea.
Around Banpo Bridge on the Han River, many people gathered on fixed gear bicycles and enjoyed riding together or interacted through various events.
Snapbacks and camp caps, Vans Oldskool, camouflage patterned pants, T-LEVEL Backpack, and colorful fixed-gear bikes represent the street culture of the 2010s.

However, after the 2010s, Korea's fixed gear bicycle culture began to disappear rapidly.
There are still a few riders and events left, but fewer people enjoy fixed gear bikes.
This is because the knoblake problem of fixed gear bicycles has had a big social impact.
On top of that, the reckless riding of teenagers disrupted the traffic order.
It was once a popular culture that more than 10 fixed gear bicycle shops were successful in Seoul alone, but now very few enthusiasts enjoy it.

I drew this illustration reminiscing about that time as one of the people who took the lead in the Fixed Gear bike culture in the 2010s.
